Next Concert NSO's next concert, which takes place on Saturday 26 May, will be an all French affair. Central to the programme is an opportunity to hear the complete choral version of Ravel's impressionist masterpiece Daphnis & Chloe. Vocal firepower is provided by the combined forces of Sinfonia Chorale, Derby Bach Choir and The Derwent Singers. The programme also features Ravel's violin showpiece Tzigane to be played by rising star Kristine Balanas (pictured). Full programme details.
Last Concert Period instrument specialist and conductor Simon Standage wowed an enthusiastic audience of over two hundred on Friday 27 April at NSO's first ever Rush Hour Concert. The early evening event featured a single work, the Beethoven violin concerto. Conductor Derek Williams announced the intention for Rush Hour Concerts to become an annual event.
